TVXQ!’s UKNOW (SM Entertainment) is releasing his second mini-album, ‘NOIR,’ on January 18th.
Along with the lead single ‘Thank U,’ the album includes six different songs, raising high expectations from fans.
In contrast to his first mini album ‘True Colors’, which expressed the colorful emotions within people’s daily lives, this album’s title ‘NOIR’ carries the meaning of ‘black’ in French. The album portrays the dark and deep feelings of a man. Each cinematic song from the album matches a unique movie genre.
UKNOW is raising his global fans’ expectations for this album through promotions including charismatic performances of TVXQ! and his solo act as well as exposures in variety tv shows to unveil his charming personality.
UKNOW’s Powerful Charisma, Lead Single ‘Thank U,’ !
The lead single, ‘Thank U,’ is a pop dance genre song with a catchy hook and dramatic development like an ‘action noir film’ full of pathos. The lyrics carry a message that he will present his best self by feeding off all the cynical mockeries towards him online. The hit-maker who showed great chemistry with UKNOW since all the great releases of TVXQ! and his first solo album lead single ‘Follow’, Yoo Young Jin and globally renowned producer who wrote songs for Bruno Mars and Halsey, The Futuristics produced this album together, raising the quality to it’s highest.
‘Time Machine’ is a hyper-pop genre that creates a future-oriented atmosphere and the lyrics are about time travelling between the single of the first mini album ‘Follow’, to the single of the second mini album ‘Thank U’ , which makes this song as an intro of the album. ‘Loco (House Party)’ is an up-tempo disco house genre with a melody that could be easily sing along and the mixed voices on the chorus sessions make a delightful and cheerful atmosphere on the song like a comedy movie. Also, a witty rhymes on the lyrics which express to get relaxed from the stress after the work catch people’s eyes.
‘Need You Right Now’ is a trendy synth-pop song with a sincere lyrics that carry a message of the ‘Carpe Diem’, to do the best for the moment for love reminds a mono drama. A Latin style of easy-listening pop song ‘La Rosa’ is featured by an actress, Shin Ye-eun and the lyrics, depicting a night of a broken-up lovers not forgetting each other is expressed with lyrical and melodramatic sensibility which doubles the charm of the song.
